I'm looking for some ideas, how do you advertise? Besides websites, I don't have one yet. Do you ladies have a brochure you pass out or is it done more by word of mouth? Just curious how to get started. Thanks everyone!!

Hi Carole - after almost two years I have finally put a price list together! I'm still working on a brochure - I basically use my daughter as my "agent." She has two children in school and has gotten me lots of customers.
I've also donated things to the school's spring sale - mother's day items, and some father's day things as well - small stuff - but made sure I had my name and number on everything - I did get some sales from that - I made 12 bookmarks - 12 SCE bars, some mint books, things like that - It's tough for me to get things together as I have a full time job - but right now it's mostly word of mouth for me....

I made some mint wrappers & gave them to some local businesses, (with their names on them) I got one order from that so far, with graduation & weddings coming up I know there has to be a good way to get our product out there...What we do is so unique! Any other good ideas will be welcomed!!

I put business cards on bulletin boards when I can find the bulletin boards. I usually just put 5 on a board using one push pin. I would like to get a small holder of some type to attach to a board and then just refill the holder.
I also have signs on three windows of my car (I started doing that when my magnetic signs faded). These signs are sort of just big business cards. I have had a couple of people call the number on the sign asking me what candy wrappers are. I've also had people approach me upon seeing me in or around my vehicle. I sometimes give a wrapped bar or mintbook to those I do business with....my son's barber, my accountant, etc. I take mintbooks or other small goodies to functions and parties, and groups that I'm a part of. I get lots of interest and inquiries when I do this, and, sometimes I get an order. I leave business cards in the bridal section of party stores where other people also leave business cards for various products and services. I also keep business cards on hand at all times. I don't have a brochure, but I do have a price list that I keep on hand to give out when/where appropriate, along with business cards. You just never know when/where people will find you and want to talk to you. It usually happens to me when I least expect it...LOL

I'd like to put together a sample packet for businesses but I'm sort of stumped on a letter. There was a letter posted a while back but it seemed more for holidays and just didn't seem to go with what I was looking to do.
If anyone has done anything like this, I'd be interested to here what you did. (One of my best "advertisers" was a candy cake donated to my kids school for their Fall Festival. A lady from the local Social Services bought it to share with her coworkers. I ended up making about $750 between Thanksgiving and Christmas JUST from those ladies!) Cathy
