Here are a couple of pictures of my holiday candy cakes. I'm having an article put in the paper about my candy cakes and I've had a couple of people at the craft show ask if I had a Christmassy one. At the time, I did not- so I did one. I figured it could help to re-spark memories of me at the show if I followed it with a newspaper article with pictures. So, if I could ask you guys for some feedback on this one. Thanks in advance!

What's on the bottom layer? I like the red and white....but I can't quite make out what it is.

Thank you! If you are talking about on the inside (right behind the candy bars), its a beaded rope with the same colors of the wrapper. It's red, green. and gold beads. The red and white boxes are presents picks. They go all around within the pillars.

I see you used the gold candy bars too......that really adds a special touch rather than the silver. It's hard to make out the beaded rope, but it all looks very, very nice. You should be proud.

I have to make one for a benefit dance for my nephew who was recently paralized from a motorcycle accident to auction off at the benefit. My sister wants me to make one of my candy cakes for it.......and this is just beautiful, and would be perfect for the benefit. Thanks so much for the idea...It will be greately appreciated by my entire family.

Another question.......what did you layer the styrofoam on the bottom layer with? It looks green.

On the bottom layer, it's just foil. I hardly ever put anything else over the foil. The candy bars are actually silver. They came out looking gold in the picture. Maybe for my next one I could use the gold bars but I come across more people that don't like the special dark that I just out of habit use the silver bars. But that's a good idea for the next one as maybe a display- to use the gold bars. Thanks for the comments. I hope it gets a lot of response from the paper! I'm still waiting for response from the show!!!!!

Hershey has come out with a new line of Mini's. They all have gold wrappers and are all sorts of nuts. They're called Nut Lovers. It even has some white chocolate in there. There is four different kinds in the bag. And if you like nuts.......they are really yummy.....None of the dark chocolate. All the yummy milk chocolates and nuts of different kinds. So, there you go....That's what I am going to use.

Hmm, looking at this another way....

'They are called Nut Lovers' - perhaps Nut Lovers is another term for Wrap Candy addicts??

'all sorts of nuts' - just about covers this forum....

'and if you like nuts' - You're definately in the right place!!!

I see a lot of similarities here...but that's just me, just one of the nuts!

Oh, I almost forgot, the cake is beautiful, great work.

When making the candy cakes do you use only the "all chocolate" minis or do you also include the Krispies and Mr. Goodbars?

Great job, by the way.

Thank you guys for all of the feedback! To answer you bordway, yes I use all of the chocolates. Unless a customer specifies certain candies, I use them all.
