I love fonts and dingbats!! ...sometimes the font you choose for a project makes all the difference !!

here are a few links for sites with free font ~ hope it is useful for you !

here is another nice resource to have.... not really sure how to explain it best, but you can type in a word and it will then create that word in a bunch of different fonts so you can see how it will look . - helps you choose fonts!External URL

** Edit: just posted this information to another thread on the forum...and thought it might be beneficial to post it here as well : another valuable program to have is Amp Font Viewer
If you have a lot of fonts and want to catalog them for easy viewing when selecting a font...this program is wonderful !
You can view them in the program after you install it ...but you have the option to print them out to make it even easier to browse through can choose the size of the font the number of pages varies depending on what size you print them out and how you choose to print...3 columns or 2 columns etc....
I have ALOT of fonts....some of them are included with my windows program and I will never use...but they are still there by default ..last time I printed mine out I think I printed 45 pages ...2 columns probably a 16 font so I can see them easily and browse quickly to locate a font that will work for my is truly invaluable to I don't mind that I have to use 45 pages to print them out in a catalog style....I only update it once a year or so ...and it is just black ink and really doesn't go through that much ink to just print out the fonts. Unless you add fonts regularly really don't need to print out an updated list.... I add a few every now and them ...I love all the wonderful font choices out there I need to update mine !!!

it is a free program, here is a link...

they have made font installation very easy now days....
This is very easy and doesn't take much time.

when you click to download the font ...instead of choosing to Save ( to install later at a later time) instead, ...simply click on OPEN
that brings up an overlay... (you will most likely see a read-me file and a font file)**

double click on the font file ...**( some fonts give a few different versions of a font within the same download can install each option , one at a time...or just select the one you like...if you arent sure...just click on a file and it opens up to view the letters and if you don't like that version...just close it without choosing to install and go from there)

when you double click, it brings up another will see the font with all the letters and how it looks in different size fonts...there is an INSTALL button towards the top left side of the page on the INSTALL button takes about 3 seconds to install...then you can close the overlays and go back to the font site
once installed to your computer all fonts that are compatible with WC software till automatically go to there.
WC only uses True Type fonts...doesn't use Open Type fonts some of the fonts you may have installed on your computer may work in other programs but not WC.

If you have a WC program open when you install be able to use that font right have to have "Real time changes" option checked...other wise you will have to save the project and close it then re-open and the new font will now be there. (to get real time changes ...go to top tool bar, choose Labels ...and at the bottom of the drop down menu choose "settings" you get a small pop up box...check the box in front of the words Real Time ok and close the box

    Hope this helps

Be careful with their terms though - a lot of them are personal use only ;)

I had someone else mention that to me awhile back...
A few years ago I contacted a few of the font authors/creators and I was told they aren't really concerned about small craft business, it is the large corporations that they are concerned with using them for "commercial" use/advertising etc, especially where a copyright for a product branding might come about
...small home based business wasn't really a concern
(....basically, what I do , they didn't even consider to be on a large enough scale to be considered a commercial business)

though it is always a good idea to check with them to be sure, thanks Roxy

Thanks for that Paula, always useful to know. I usually see not commercial and don't bother, maybe I will in the future (but I would probably check first too). .

Dafont is my favorite. Look up Kimberly Geswein on there... she has lots of cute fonts (e.g. KG and Janda). And here is her font site:
